Assignment 10

1. This is actually a beautiful shot of the trees at Frontier Park. The colors of the leaves on the trees versus the color of the leaves on the ground are quite different. When I look at this picture, I get a very strong sense of serenity and peace.

2. This photo is of the trees on the south side of Frontier Park, by the volleyball sandbox. The leaves on the trees are a very pretty rusty orange color and the leaves that have fallen to the ground look like a very light pink mixed with rusty orange. This is probably because they are so spread apart. The sun is shining through only a handful of areas making the light a very unique combination. The bark on the trees looks like a mixture of brown and grey.

3. The composition is very cool for this particular photo because there are so many trees that there is no such thing as the rule of thirds for this, you have the three major trees in the foreground and the many different ones in the background. The focus is very sharp in the front and begins to blur as you look into the back, this is a technique but I have forgotten the name of it.

4. "Leaves of color" has no story other than I was walking around the park and happened to look to the highway at the exact moment to capture the setting sun.

5. Paul Cezanne drawings are very beautiful and the color choice is such that you are not thinking that it is to bright or to dull or to much of anything. The colors are perfect. My favorite piece by him is his "Basket of Apples" done in 1893, the placement of the still life and the colors used are very real and beautiful to me.
